Welcome!
Let me start by saying that I offer a judgment-free zone for your healing journey. I will offer your guidance, support, compassion, and hope with each session. Beyond those principles, the session is yours to freely explore your inner and outer worlds.
We can set and achieve tangible goals like finding a new job or we can explore abstract issues like childhood trauma or self-hatred. Along the journey, you will cultivate self- esteem, increase your confidence, and learn to recognize your unique abilities and personal gifts.
If anxious thoughts invade your mind or depression keeps your stuck in place, we will banish those thoughts and replace them with improved, healthy cognitions. As a direct result of these practices, you will feel improved in mind, body, and spirit.
I enjoy working with adults of all ages as well as other mental professionals, medical professionals, and all 'healers and helpers'. When appropriate, I also work with families and couples.
My therapy techniques are tried and trusted. I used cognitive behavior therapy (CBT), solution-focused therapy and mindfulness-based approaches such as Emotional Freedom Technique or "tapping". I also welcome the opportunity to explore faith and spiritual topics.
I have been practicing psychotherapy for 6 years in both private and public settings. I hold a B.A. from Gettysburg College, PA and a Masters of Science in Counseling from McDaniel College in Westminster, MD. I am licensed in Maryland.
I currently offer telemental health counseling sessions throughout the state of Maryland using HIPAA compliant software, as well as, limited in-person sessions from Westminster, MD. Telemental health is convenient, safe, and affordable. With no travel time to and from sessions, these sessions more easily fit into our already busy schedules. If you prefer traditional, face to-face, counseling, that's okay too.
